Never Let Go

We gathered for church - our first official church in English for missionaries...So much has happened, we've all been through so much - working , no living this life for Jesus.  It's easy to get caught up in all that needs to happen and does happen and forget to pause and spend some time just worshiping the One who brought each of us to this harsh and beautiful land. To these people we love and have come to serve.  As we gathered and shared our hearts, we sang this song, and the following is what ran through my mind as we sat there, taking everything before God, together.  We request your prayers, as life here is not easy, but you are never safer than when you are in the center of where God wants you to be - for the only True safety is found in Christ.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death

Gunshot Wounds. Being robbed at gunpoint. Fear for your children, their safety. 

Your perfect love is casting out fear

But He is there.

And even when I'm caught in the middle of the storms of this life

Not knowing where you'll be the next day...sick children, worries from home.

I won't turn back

He is why we are here. There is no going back

I know you are near

He will never leave me nor forsake me.

And I will fear no evil

Voodoo. Crime. Anger. Desperation.

For my God is with me

He walks us through it all.

And if my God is with me

We know He is 

Whom then shall I fear?

No weapon formed against us shall prosper

Whom then shall I fear?

No one is as great as He.

Oh no, You never let go
Through the calm and through the storm

He is the same no matter the circumstance

In every high and every low

I don't get to decide what is good and what is bad

but through it all He takes care of me

And I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on

This world is NOT all there is

A glorious light beyond all compare

Knowing Him is better than anything

And there will be an end to these troubles

There are no "sides" in Heaven, just God

But until that day comes

God has us here for now

We'll live to know You here on the earth

But we will strive to follow Him through our daily lives

Yes, I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on

And this too shall pass.

But until that day comes

We must walk through life here, faithfully

Still I will praise You, still I will praise You

He is Good and Worthy of our praise.
